Play all 4 finger patterns in a row so that you have the correct feel in the hand for each pattern. Justine demonstrates the four fundamental finger patterns (Low, Mid, High, Open), played twice each. She repeats the entire routine at double tempo.
Practising all four finger patterns in a row makes you concentrate on the changes of pattern. Also be aware of the finger patterns when you practise Scales in One Position or when working on fast passagework such as the scale passage in Bar 202 of the 1st movement of Mozart's D major Violin Concerto, where we have a High finger pattern on the G string, followed by Middle patterns on the D and A strings followed by a Low pattern on the E string.
