Try drawing a line using your whole arm, then your forearm only, then just the hand.

The result is always a curved line. This explains why your bowstroke will be crooked if only one part of your arm moves.

As demonstrated in the following clips, you must move at least two parts of your arm and hand to achieve a straight bowstroke.

Combine forearm and upper-arm movement, or forearm movement with hand/finger flexing.
